The Lunar Circle Series – Honoring the Moon, Honoring Ourselves

For thousands of years, humans have looked to the moon as a guide — a celestial compass marking time, shaping tides, and whispering reminders of life’s natural ebb and flow. In many traditions, the moon’s phases are seen as more than astronomical events; they are invitations to pause, reflect, release, and begin again.

In our modern world, with its constant noise and endless to-do lists, these pauses can be rare. The Lunar Circle Series, led by Nahal Haghbin (C-IAYT) of Yoga avec Moi, offers a way back — a sacred rhythm of self-care, connection, and community, aligned with the moon’s cycle.

Why Practice with the Moon?

The moon moves through a complete cycle every 29.5 days, shifting from dark to full light and back again. Each phase carries a distinct energy:

  • New Moon – The dark sky offers stillness and clarity. It’s a time to set intentions, plant seeds, and listen inward.

  • Waxing Moon – Growth and momentum build, supporting action and creation.

  • Full Moon – At peak illumination, what has grown is revealed. It’s a time to celebrate, release, and realign.

  • Waning Moon – A gentle decline invites rest, reflection, and letting go before the next cycle begins.

By aligning our practice with these phases, we create a natural ebb and flow in our own lives — periods of rest balanced with times of action — supporting emotional, mental, and even hormonal well-being.

What Happens in a Lunar Circle?

Each 2-hour circle is a carefully held space where participants can slow down and reconnect. Our gatherings weave together:

  • Restorative Yoga Therapy & Breathwork – Gentle, supported postures to calm the nervous system and create space in body and mind.

  • Guided Journaling & Seasonal Rituals – Reflection prompts and simple rituals that align with the current moon phase.

  • Community Connection – Sharing experiences in a safe, supportive group.

  • Optional Tarot/Oracle Card Pulls – For insight, affirmation, and intuitive guidance.

  • Lunar Wisdom – Understanding the emotional and energetic influences of the moon at this moment in its cycle.

More Than a Class — A Monthly Ritual

In many ways, the Lunar Circle is a counterbalance to the pace of daily life. It’s an act of reclaiming time for yourself — to listen, to move, to breathe, and to simply be. Many participants find that over time, this practice deepens their intuition, strengthens their sense of connection (to themselves and others), and creates a meaningful monthly anchor in their calendar.
